Samsung LN40A330 40-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

We were woefully unprepared for how crappy normal TV would look. That’s a compliment to this excellent TV (and HD in general) but it meant we had to scrap our digital cable and get DirecTV. We also didn’t have the right cables to hook up all our stuff. But all that’s our fault. We just got the thing because my 10-year-old 32″ block was kind of an embarrassment. This was one of the better prices for a name brand HDTV, though it was more than we needed to spend. I think it was worth it, though, because we have no complaints about the color, picture quality, or features. It was easy to figure out once it was hooked-up. And the design is clean and not as gaudy as some others. I’d highly recommend it if you’re ready to make the jump to HD. Just be ready for the surprise, and to shell out some more dough for new cable and new cables.

Great Quality, or so I thought…. – W. Guan – AZ, USA
Bought this one for my parents for X-mas 2008 since they don’t have an HDTV. They don’t watch too much TV since they work constantly. They might use it about 15-20 hours a week. So the TV has been great for them until just after 1 year and 2 months later the internal Power Supply Unit died. Don’t you just love warranties!?

If it wasn’t for the breakdown I’d rate it an overall 4 star as the TV itself produce some good visuals although not as great as my Toshiba 1080P LCD….maybe I should of got my parents the same since mine is now over 3 years old and I use this thing constantly for gaming, movies, and even as a PC monitor via DVI to HDMI cable.

TV good, delivery service bad – Jacqueline Stack –
This TV is very nice: good picture, easy setup. The delivery was very poor. It was much more challenging to arrange a delivery time as the delivery company was pretty dense. The TV was delivered on a large pallet and the delivery person refused to even remove the box from the pallet for my wife so that the TV could be moved indoors. I definitely would question using this vendor again due to their poor choice in delivery companies.

Best deal…Fo real! – Robert Rucker Hill – Big D, Tejjas
Yes…I did my due diligence… I scanned the web, hit the stores and this was the true ‘Best Buy’ out there. I needed a TV that was better than the one that did not work and I was not looking for the latest and greatest to “one up” my friends.

What I was looking for was a good working TV that would last longer than it would take for me to pay it off…Which pans down to mean low cost and a strong reputation for manufacturing solid TV’s…and this one hit the target dead-on. I got the best price on Amazon.com from the warehouse. Go ahead and search for yourself. You’ll be right back.

SAMSUNG SCAM – failed after 2 years! What the deuce! – A. FASH –
This was my first expensive LCD TV purchase, and am reconsidering ever doing it again. Bought this for 99.99, worked beautifully for 2 years, then suddenly a long solid black horizontal line across the middle of the screen. Since I was out of the crappy 12 month SAMSUNG warranty, I took it in to my trusted repair guy, who diagnosed the issue as a defective LCD panel. Unfixable (unless you want to spend 00, when you could simply replace the whole set for less.) Unfixable?? I spent two grand on this thing.

Come to find out SAMSUNG’S (and others’) LCDs and Plasmas are plagued with these sort of issues once you get out of the first year of usage. Not built to last, and SAMSUNG admits as much. My repair guy has trouble staying in business since most of these panel issues are unfixable, and everyone’s been tossing their old CRT sets away in favor of the New Wonderful.

For this kind of money, are you kidding me? Lure you into the HD game by the low prices and beautiful screens, yet SAMSUNG doesn’t stand by the product after 12 months? Let’s see… 12 months, 99.99… that’s 5/month of guaranteed usage. I guess I should be thankful for anything longer than that? What a scam.

Will never buy another Samsung product again! – Francesca – California
We bought three of these Samsung LCD TVs. One quit working completely after warranty was over; another has started to have a problem turning off and we’ve only had it about 5 months. We’ll fix the one with the warranty, and see if it’s worth it to fix the other one. They have a beautiful picture, for awhile. Don’t be fooled, check the internet with a search similar to, “Samsung LCD TV won’t turn on.” You will be amazed at how many complaints there are about this brand of TV. No more Samsungs!

Don’t buy from Samsung – J. D. Malone –
I’ve had the same problem as many others. My TV takes about 15 min’s to turn on and makes clicking sounds during that time. This started about a year and a half after I purchased it. Samsung knows about the problem but refuse to do anything about it. This should be recalled. Samsung, take a page from Toyota and own upto your mistakes and fix the problem with the capacitors. 10V capacitors on a 9V circuit doesn’t cut it!!! Take a look at all the complaints on Consumer Affairs!

Billed as the LCD HDTV brand with the best picture on the market, the Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV entered the market as the underdog. Stereotyped and shunned by most, the competitively priced brand, packed with must-have features that would make other 1080p LCD HDTV brands blush, soon captured the hearts and imagination of most households, to become the number one sought after brand in America, and now it’s easy to see why…

To sum it in one sentence, the Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV, ranging from the 500 series to the current 800 series, is what the Nissan GTR is to the sports car industry…super easy on the pocket, super-sleek, faster than most, if not all Sports cars on the market priced at twice, and even 4 times more than the GTR… and yes, oh yes, Candy for the eyes!

With it’s standard swivel base, making this Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV perfect to watch from any angle in the room, you’d be hard pressed not to love the picture clarity from any angle! If dust is your pet peeve, then put away your duster and forget those “baby come back” commercials, because the Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV is dust resistant!

The mad Scientists from Korea put out a code red no-holds-barred design contest when designing the Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV. With the new 600 series, starting with the LN52A650, which Samsung introduced with their Red Touch of Color – a Technology that brands their models with a subtle hint of red….more accentuated as you watch your HDTV from a slight angle!

Think Merlot, soft to the eye and perfect for home decor. Now Bruno, your Interior design diva, has a whole new assignment on his hands when he redecorates your home, as the LCD HDTV will have to be factored into the design, color and layout of the decor!

No longer do you have to be stuck with the bland and generic black color on all TVs….keep watching this space as HDTVs start following in the footsteps of the Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV by churning out a kaleidoscope of colors with their HDTVs that would make your head spin!

If this is beginning to sound like the ramblings of an Samsung employee on the verge of receiving a bonus check for writing a sterling review on the product lest his house goes on fire! rest assured…it is not!

Samsung couldn’t pay me nor afford me at the rate they pay their employees, let alone the manufacturers, whatever their ages or dedication! Consider this review, rather as from someone whose eyes became more than just Claritin D clear where Hi Definition television viewing is concerned!

Life is too short to spend it watching the neighbor’s HDTV from the bushes that make up your house fence with those worn out and over-used binoculars you received as a send-off present to a African Birdwatching Safari when Zimbabwe still had wildlife and birds!

In my opinion, most people choose their HDTVs, first based on price, then, depending on the ego or affordability, the size! Whatever size of ego or price, the Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV brand is priced with the ordinary man on the street in mind, and it takes the human mind a couple of minutes to understand this concept as we’re all conditioned to believe bigger – better – more pricey!

When the PC became a household commodity, sales sored and prices, well, prices remained relatively constant…now you do not have to bother about saving for a new PC, because Samsung has developed their 1080p LCD HDTV with Internet surfing abilities… the couch potato lifestyle is becoming popular again!

No longer do you have to lumber in a sleepy stupor to your home PC to check your stocks and read update news…you can access both, and much more, including anything you can attach to the HDTV, using USB, from your Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV screen!

Samsung UN32B6000 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV Review

I got the Samsung UN32B6000 tv because of size and weight issues with the location for installation. After looking at reviews by other buyers on multiple web sites for this and other 32″ LED tvs (of which there are not many), I chose the Samsung and am extremely pleased. I purchased it from Amazon because of a great price and free delivery.

The setup was quite easy, and the picture is amazing. HD output is fantastic, and analog TV sources are much better than I expected. Upconverted DVD content is really good on this set. As with most flat panel televisions, the sound is only adequate. The system does come with a clear voice setting for the sound and that has helped me hear dialog in TV show, DVDs and Blu-Ray movies. Best of all, the clear voice setting allows me to watch sporting events at a much lower volume than my old, analog tv , and that keeps my wife happy.

Installation was quite easy, but buyers should be aware that all connections on the set were quite recessed. I used a low profile wall mount and as a result, adding cables after the initial installation is quite a challenge. Careful pre-installation planning of cable requirements is a must. There are a lot of connections on the set (4 x HDMI, one of which is for an HDMI to DVI cable for use with most HD cable boxes, coax for cable in, 2 USB, ethernet, component and digital audio and a PC connection if you don’t have HDMI output on your PC.)

I use a Samsung BD1590 Blu-Ray player, and the TV and Blu-Ray player are nicely integrated. Turn on the BD player and it automatically turns on the TV and switches input to the proper HDMI input on the TV. It also optimizes the link for best output. Both TV and BD player controllers are consistent in layout and the one from the BD player controls key TV functions like volume, source, channel. Neither controller is a universal controller and as such, you must use the one provided with your cable box to change channels for regular TV viewing.

Overall, I am quite pleased with my choice of this TV.

Good Purchase – G. Garcia –
I’m very happy with the purchase of the 32″ Samsung. I would have prefered to purchase a bigger TV but LED’s don’t come in 37″ size so I had to chose between the 32″ or getting rid of my cabinet which I’m not ready to do. I got it in time to watch the Winter Olympics and enjoyed the color and detail of the picture. I rely on others for TV reviews as I don’t pay too much attention or watch too many sports but the reviews were accurate that it’s an excellent TV.

astute shopper – Marcia A. Sidenstick – WORTHINGTON, OH, US
THE SAMSUNG UN32B6000 IS A GREAT ADDITION TO MY HOME. I HAVE FOUND THE PICTURE COLOR & CLARITY EXCEPTIONAL. I AM VERY HAPPY THAT I WAITED FOR THE LED TO BE AVAILABLE WITH THE 32 INCH SCREEN. THE BACKGROUND BLACKS ARE JUST THAT BLACK. MOTION ON THE SCREEN IS SMOOTH WITHOUT DISRUPTION, THANKS TO 120HZ. THIS TV IS ABOUT THE LIMIT WHEN IT COMES TO 32 INCH TV’S. THE ONLY DISADVANTAGE THAT I HAVE FOUND IS THAT THE CONNECTIONS ARE ON THE SIDE OF THE SCREEN INSTEAD OF AT THE BOTTOM.

Great Product – Bennett Dolin –
This tv fits particular needs in terms of size and expectations. It fits a cabinet in my bedroom. It will serve my tv tech needs for years. The downside of the latter capability is dealing with options, capabilities and questions I often don’t know how to answer. To minimize frustrations, get help setting it up (including quick start).

Quick delivery, easy setup – Loan Arranger – Southwest Fla, USA
I was a little bit apprehensive as I had never ordered anything this large over the internet before and was concerned about possible shipping damage. The Amazon delivery was fast (as usual) and the TV was well packed and supported, so I had no damage problems to worry with. The set-up proceedure was well described in the Samsung manual and was easy to follow. This is not insignificant as you are actually setting up a computer and the old days where you just plug it in to cable and power and turn it on are definately gone. I did take the time to read other customer reviews both good and bad, and based on comments in these, I knew a little beforehand how I wanted to set the picture up. I got this TV for the bedroom and sat it on a stand, so no problems with a wall mounting, but unless you are well versed in setting up a HDTV, you should allow at least an hour to go through the setup. It’s not that difficult, but you will be happier with the results if you do it right the first time. My former son-in-law didn’t take the time to set up properly and watched his set for over a year until he realized he wasn’t getting High Def, only standard definition (true story)!! Anyway, we are very happy with the results.

With so many new options out there, it is no surprise that many people are confused, even with the Samsung LN46B650 46 inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color. Many will say that this television is top of the line while others may argue it. This 45.9″ screen with a 16:9 wide screen aspect ratio is ideal for many homes that like to entertain or watch movies or sporting events. It is also extremely fashionable with the red accents over the black high gloss black finish.

But is this the right television for you or are you thinking of going with EDTV? When it comes televisions, there are now more options out there then ever before. Back when the television first came out, you had only one type to pick from and a few different sizes of screens you could get. Now, there are more different kinds out there than one could probably count and there are many variations in the size that someone could purchase.

When it comes down to it, consumers are looking at either purchasing an EDTV or an HDTV. Either one is a better choice over the standard television of yesterday. But which one is worth it when it comes to the money spent and the quality of picture and sound that is received?

The bottom line is that HDTV is always a better choice over the EDTV but then again, EDTV was not created or designed to be a competitor of the HDTV. EDTV, which stands for Enhanced Definition Television, was designed to be a television that is better than the standard set, but not as nice or high priced as the HDTV. If you are looking for clear crisp pictures with excellent sound then you really want to make sure that you are focusing on the HDTV.

Consider this, HDTV has 720 progressive scanning and EDTV has only 480 progressive scans. If you are looking for a television that will give you and your guests a life-like quality images then the HDTV is the best option. This is another reason why the Samsung LN46B650 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color is so popular.

When it comes to shopping for televisions, some people automatically assume that heading to their local electronics store is the best option. That is never really the case though and for several reasons. Shopping online for the Samsung LN46B650 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color has become extremely popular. Not only does a person find a lot of wonderful deals this way but it is a lot easier. Instead of having to figure out how you are going to carry and haul some large television box home, you can have it shipped directly to you and have it carried for you right to your front door. What could be easier then that?

Looking to cut a path of destruction through some pixels? The G500 may be able to help. The G500 is currently the gold standard of mice. It is superior to the comfort, durability, and functionality of mice that sell for twice as much.

Total Rating: 4.8 out of 5.0

Value: 4.9

Performance: 4.7

Recommendation: The G500 is currently the gold standard of mice. It is superior to the comfort, durability, and functionality of mice that sell for twice as much.

Standard Retail: $69.99

What we liked:

Comfortable design
New grip material avoids slipping
Improved 5700 DPI laser tracking
Fair price (more than fair when on sale)
Great durability, long warranty
On-the-fly DPI switching
Highly customizable
Weight cartridge
Excellent placement on 10 programmable buttons

What we disliked:

Some people don’t like it for weird reasons… (see below)

Review:

There’s a lot to love about the G500, which replaced the old Logitech G5. Based on the reviews of people who have actually purchased the mouse, this is one of the highest-rated products we’ve seen.

Compared to the old G5, a few things have changed. Most importantly, the old 2000 DPI engine got a major overhaul, and now tracks an amazing 5700 max DPI, meaning it can move as fast as your control allows. Second, the grip was altered slightly to allow the thumb to rest more comfortably on the left side of the mouse. Third, more buttons were added and repositioned, making them both convenient and very difficult to mis-click.

There are also some new features, like the 2-mode scroll wheel, which allows you to scroll in either standard mode or “free” mode. Free mode is my personal favorite. You can move a small amount to go up a few lines, or you can give it a flick and watch it spin for several pages. I’ve pretty much stopped clicking scroll bars like the one on the right of this page.

Perhaps the most controversial change was to the material. Older Logitech mice have a smooth kind of feel to the grip. The problem was that this made peoples’ hands sweat, causing the mouse to get slippery and gross feeling. The new material is like a rubbery sandpaper. It’s quite comfortable, not or abrasive in any way, and causes less perspiration and gives a better grip. I guess some people have a “thing” about textures that are not smooth.

By default the mouse is turned down to a low sensitivity setting, but you can customize up to five DPI in SetPoint. This is 100% customizable, so please realize that anyone who says it “moves the cursor too fast/slow” has no idea what they’re doing. In addition to changing speed settings, the software allows you to record and edit macros, then program them to a set button if you desire.

As always, you can also adjust polling rates and the weight of the mouse with the weight cartridge. After reviewing every top-grade mouse on the market, the G500 is the one I’d suggest to my friends. It also earned the highest marks from all of our reviewers combined -see the category entry for details. Click below to check the price or get the G500.

Why own one?

Light Crystal Display or LCD TVs are thin and lightweight, therefore you can save space with this kind of television. Similar to the LCD computer monitor, this is a good space saver unlike the bulky traditional computer monitor or the big and bulky traditional cathode ray tube TV. Equipped with great image quality, you will also experience no burn-in problems or static images because the liquid crystals filter the fluorescent backlight.

Samsung LCDs lasts almost a lifetime or 30,0000 to even 80,000 hours as claimed by the brand. This outperforms the plasma TV with a life span of half the life expectancy of an LCD. Samsung LCD TVs can last for a long time as long as the backlight can produce or emit white light. But when time weakens the system, backlights can be replaced so this makes the unit cost-efficient too. Aside from that, the LCD can also be used as replacement for the standard computer monitor. Its dual function definitely saves you some dollars.

Another money saving advantage given by LCDs is that it uses less electricity that Plasma TVs or CRTs. Research claims that LCDs are economical because they use less, or almost half the power the traditional and other forms of television use.

Why stick to the traditional form?

The larger sizes are not that affordable. Although prices have dropped because of the increasing demand, the bargain prices still appear expensive compared to the regular prices of traditional or plasma televisions.

Because LCDs use filters and white backlight, there is a possibility that the RGB quality or the red, blue, and green color outputs are compromised. Sometimes, you may notice that blacks appear dark grays in color because the white light passes through.

There is also the possibility of reduced viewing angle. Because the white light passes directly through the pixel and because of the characteristics of the polarizing filters, the angle of vision may decrease. It could be noticeable that the quality of the blacks and colors at angles greater than 20 degrees off axis is poor.

But then again, people have different needs. And the variety of choices may actually satisfy every need. Therefore, the decision of owning or not owning an LCD depends on the customer’s personal wishes and desires. The good may outweigh the bad in this review but at the end of these all, the decision is still up to you.

The prices of the computers have fallen so low that they have got a lot of attention for schools, which also means that the computer manufactures is now bent-upon capturing this new lucrative market.

The best part about the HP Mini 100e netbook is that it is kid proof. By that, I mean that this netbook is meant to be used roughly, thanks to its shell that is made from hard plastic. It even has a nice chiclet keyboard which is also spill-proof. HP is selling it with the choice of three operating systems – Windows 7 Starter, Windows XP Home and Linux.

Since this is targeted towards the education market, HP is pre-loading the HP Mini 100e with Microsoft Office 2010 Starter edition. The price of the netbook is being kept under 300 dollars to make it affordable enough for the schools. The netbook also comes with Microsoft Math and Microsoft Security Essentials. The best part is that the Mini 100e is not based on the Classmate PCs by Intel which retail for 399 dollars or more.

Coming to its specs, this netbook has a 10.1-inch back-lit display, a 92-percent QWERTY keyboard and comes with a carrying handle. Powered by an Intel Atom N455 1.6GHz processor, it comes with 1 gigabyte of DDR3 RAM. The Mini 100e gets a good 4.5 hours on a three-cell battery and 8.5 hours on a 6-cell battery.

Samsung LN22B650 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

The TV is perfect for a small room (bedroom, dorm, kitchen, etc) and should not be compared to much larger units. The picture is brilliant in HD with vivid colors. Setup was easy. And the sound is ok, not great. But remember, small TV’s have small speakers. In this model, two 3watt speakers. With some adjustment, the sound was passable. Decent volumn but no base. Most of the reviews on this model, as well as other small TV’s rate sound as mediocre. Not the case. Once you see the fantastic picture, you expect a rich base sound experience to accompany a movie. Get real. You can always add bookshelf speakers. I am very happy with the purchase.

AVERAGE WITH A FEW SHORT-COMINGS – The Toyman – Central Illinois
GENERAL INFORMATION
This set is being used in a kitchen, replacing a 5-yr-old 17″ Phillips LCD (not digital/HD ).
Reason for replacement is I wanted more viewing (screen) area.
Viewing distance typically ranges from 8 feet (during meals) to 15 feet (meal preparation & clean-up).
Typically used to watch national news/stock market ticker.
Connection: Comcast cable – no cable box nor cable card.
The following descriptions of picture quality were made using analog channels.

PROS
- Screen displays a picture within 8 seconds of powering on, compared to 15 seconds on the replaced 17″ Phillips LCD.
- The ‘blank’ time between (changing) channels is about three seconds less than the Phillips, but comparable to two other 32″ Sony digital/HD TVs.
- Initial setup was reasonably intuitive. I scanned the Quick Set Up Guide before starting.

CONS
- During set up, before initiating the ‘Find channels’ step, I was directed to select the cable signal type used by the cable provider (Comcast), and given a choice of STANDARD, IRC & HRC; there was no explanation/definition provided in the Quick Setup Guide. I didn’t know what the instruction meant, so tried each one (resetting the channels selected between each choice). IRC & HRC resulted in no digital/high def. channels being found, which left me with a reasonable guess of what to choose. However, to verify my choice, I looked on-line and found directions to use IRC [...]. But since that still didn’t find digital/HD channels, I called Comcast and was told to use STANDARD, which added perhaps 50 hypenated channels (e.g. 132-1), including a few labeled HD on the viewed channel. Lacking a cable box, scrambled channels didn’t display.

- The picture on the old 480 resolution Phillips was slightly superior to this 720 Samsung. I’ve tweaked the picture settings (brightness, contrast, sharpness, color & tint), but still haven’t been able to match more natural skin tones that were displayed on the old Phillips and three other, larger Sony digital/HD TVs. Additionally, lack of picture sharpness is particularly annoying; objects often appear grainy and people’s faces appear to have an excess of makeup to the point of blurring definiton of detail. That also applies to other scenes. The previously-mentioned Sonys (also viewing analog channels) have a similar problem, but not quite to the extent of this Samsung. I discussed it with a TV-repairman friend, who said it had something to do with the lack of processing power of the TV. I had wanted to buy a 22″ Sony (Model KDL-22L5000), but waited too long (discontinued by Sony), and the location of the TV (between shelves) restricts using a larger size. In fairness, a Sony in this size-range may have similar problems – I’ve not viewed one. And of course if I wanted to pay Comast an additional [...]/month for another converter box, the problem might be moot, because I’d use the digital/HD channels. But that’s not worth it to me for a set that gets about 60 minutes of use most days. Comcast already gets more of my money than I would like.

-Sound quality (out-of-the -box) was lousy, but tweaked to acceptable, by using TruSurround Sound and increasing the three lowest equalizer frequencies (bass side) significantly. Volume levels are lacking. The old Phillips was usually set at one-third of max-available volume. Depending on which channel is being used, this Samsung is often set closer to 45 percent of available volume. Maxing the volume is uncomfortable, but not overwhelming (No, I’m not deaf). Additionally with Auto Volume on, there is much less consistency of volume from channel to channel – some channels are harshly loud while others are far too soft. Disabling Auto Volume helps maintain levels from channel-to-channel, but the sound level (volume) drops a bit.

- The set is described on Samsung’s web site as having “Touch of Color(tm) (which) adds a sophisticated touch to the bezel”. The Samsung site shows it as a different color/shade on about 1/3 of the frame. The set I received is solid, glossy black. This point isn’t an issue for me, but it’s not what’s described.

- When channels are stored as ‘Favorites’, they cannot be recalled from a list of Favorite channels. Push the button – a Favorite channel displays. Push it again for another Favorite channel, etc – in numeric order. If there’s a way to display a list of ONLY the Favorites and then select one to watch, I haven’t found it. Again, annoying.

SUMMARY
The set meets my criteria for a larger viewing area in the space available, but the (analog channels) picture quality is mediocre. I viewed the model at Best Buy before buying – it looked good, but was connected via digital/high def. Unless I add a converter box, I’ll not be completely satisfied with it. Full disclosure: excepting the 17″ Phillips, and this Samsung, the other three digital/high def. TV sets I own run through a cable box (1) or cable card (2).

Second one is excellent – donok – Ft Worth, TX
The first one was shipped very fast. Upon receipt, the color could not be properly adjusted. Poor contrast and just not a sharp or color correct picture. I requested a replacement and received it in 2 days. This one has a perfect picture and the sound is not bad for a small TV. I would recommend this one. We are very pleased.

Very Satisfied Customer – W. Moody –
I received my new Samsung tv in less than week after ordering from Amazon and receiving the free shipping. The tv is slim and looks beautiful on the outside. I was able to pick up a few HD channels with a small indoor antenna. The picture is amazing. CBS in HD looks absolutely outstanding. I wish I had ordered this tv sooner so I could have watched the entire college football season on it. This tv is perfect for my bedroom and the volume is not an issue in a small room. Everything seems sturdy and the tv came with everything needed to setup and start watching within 10 minutes. A great buy.

Bedroom TV – R. Rule – Eatonton, GA
TV arrived within several days of ordering same. Packaging was excellent and the TV arrived in perfect condition. Instructions for set up and viewing gave me some difficulty but that might be an age problem on my part. Excellent picture viewed from the bed since the LCD is pointed that way. Angle viewing beyond about 35 degrees from straight on causes considerable fading but not a problem for watching from the bed. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase. Wal Mart and other stores were selling old models of the 22″ Samsung for prices in the 0-0 range.
